The handlers/groomers/owners in these videos demonstrate how they would use the Pure Paws product line with their dogs. You may even notice sometimes that different handlers use different techniques when bathing & grooming. There are many ways to combine the products to acheive the look that is right for your dog. If you want more information on the individual products and what they can do for your dog please look at the Product Information page or email us at info@purepaws.net
Grooming the Cocker Spaniel
Reconstructing Shampoo

Wet the coat. Then apply the Ultra Brightening Shampoo diluted 1 part shampoo to 8 parts water. Pour the mixture over the dog evenly and begin working into the coat. The optical brighteners will help enhance the colors of the coat. Then rinse the shampoo.

On coats that have white in them we recommend doing an extra bath using the No Rinse Shampoo as a second bath to help bring the white out on the coats. This can be used diluted or straight.

The final bath should be with the Ultra Reconstructing Shampoo diluted 1 part shampoo to 8 parts water. This will replace the moisture in the coat. Make sure to rinse the shampoo out and not leave behind any soapy residue.

Dilute the Moisturizing Conditioner 1 part conditioner to 8 parts water. Distribute through out the coat evenly. Do not apply to the head (top knot) on show days. Let the conditioner sit in the coat for 3 minutes, run a little bit of warm water through the coat so that the conditioner penetrates all the way to the base of the coat. Run your fingers gently through the coat to assure that the conditioner has penetrated. Rinse with cool water.

Dilute the Silk Cream Conditoner 1 part conditioner to 8 parts water in a small tub. Make sure that the Silk Cream is completely diluted, you may want to use a hand blender to assure the product is smooth. Place the dog in the tub and allow the conditioner to penetrate the coat. Saturate the coat by continually using the water from the tub, use a small cup and pour the mixture over the coat. Rinse with cool water.

To acheive a nice finish to the coat when drying use a small hand help drier and finish drying the coat on a warm setting. While line drying the coat spary a small amout of Finishing Show Spray into the coat.

Shine Conditioning Spray
For the finishing show touches brush the coat with the Finishing Show Spray or the Shine Conditioning Spray. This will add that luster & shine to the coat and acheive the maximum amount of lenghth. For trimming the coat we recommend the 7" Straight Cobalt Shears. A great shear will give you a great trim without any nicking. This will prevent splitting of the hair shafts.
